Lanny J. Alarcón Barreiro is a Cuban musician with an Instrumentalist, Violin Professor, and Ensemble Performer degree from the Esteban Salas Conservatory.

Working as a music teacher, she taught at the “Manuel Muñóz Cedeño” Bayamo Professional Art School and “Manuel Navarro Luna” School of Music in Manzanillo, located both in the Province of Granma. This gave her splendid experience teaching and training different age groups in a wide range of settings.

Lanny has been teaching violin in Oman for the past year, following the Trinity College London and London College of Music examination boards with very successful results

from her students. She has worked in different musical projects interpreting different styles of music including ancient, classical, and Cuban music, jazz, pop, soul, reggae, and funk.

 

Among these projects is the Ancient Music Ensemble "Exsulten", the Charanga Orchestra "El Gallo y su Orquesta", the Bayamo Symphony Orchestra of the Granma province, and the Bayamo Camerata where she performed as a violinist. She has also worked with many renowned singer-songwriters around Cuba.
